Second Saturday

Second Saturday is the monthly program for the sponsor children.

Raju was responsible for a movie, Ashwini for taking the weight of the children. Pallavi took care of the measurements. Madhan, Roja1, Murthi and Saikumar were responsible for T.T. (playing games).
Ramanjinamma, Roja-2, Prabhavathi worked with the children for dances and songs. Deepa, Anjali, Kala Bai, Kalavathi did an art class. We were all responsible for this program because the staff members went to collect some things like rice, clothes… in villages, for the victims of the flood in Kurnool.
The sponsor children took their weight at the gate and signed the list. Children who were absent
in the previous month had to wear a white heart because they didn’t give measurements for Christmas clothes yet. The children who had white hearts, went to Pallavi to take their measurement. After measurement, we sent the children to Raju, to see a cartoon movie. After the movie, they went to the playground for playing games and then art class. And from 12 till 1pm they sang songs and danced. On that day, a 125 children attended. We divided them into three groups. Some children came late, so we arranged one group after another group. At 1 pm, the children had lunch and they went home. We (the hostel children) packed the clothes and rice which had already been collected. That was not so hard. For the good job we did, we watched Naraina .We enjoyed it very much. It was a nice and unforgettable day. So we all like to share our happiness with you.
