Swine Flu

There are vaccines to treat the swine flu, the USCDC recommends the use of oseltanivir (tamiflu) or About Swine flu.
Swine flu, also called the Mexican flu is caused by pigs who spread the virus. Scientists have discovered that swine flu is caused by pigs when they cough or sneeze. Swine influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory diseases of pigs caused by type-a influenza viruses that cause regular outbreaks in pigs. It is a contagious disease. But in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond 3 people. Today it has spread from person to person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Infected people may be able to infect others. Symptoms develop to 7 or more days after they become sick. Especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods. Symptoms of swine flu are flu, include fever, coughing, a sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills and fatigue. And some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with flu. And deaths have been reported. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underplaying chronic medical conditions.
The medicine they give is called zanawivir (relena) for the prevention of these
swine influenza viruses.
Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhalers, etc.) that fight against the flue by keeping flu viruses from being produced in your body.
To protect yourself before getting sick, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. Wash your hands often with soap and water. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. The virus can spread this way. Try to avoid close contact with sick people. Do not go to work or school if you have the flu.
The warning signs in children that need urgent medical attention are:
1. fast breathing or trouble in breathing.
2. Bluish skin color
3. Not drinking enough fluid.
4. Not waking up or not interacting.
5. Being so irritable that the child acts crazy to be held.
6. Fever with a rash.
7. Flu-like symptoms improve but then returns with fever and the coughing gets worse.
8. pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen.
9. sudden dizziness
10. confusion
11. severe or persistent vomiting.
Eat healthy food. Keep your hands cleans keep clean besides tables, bathrooms, sheets and towels and your clothes must be washed with laundry soap and dried on a hot setting. Eating utensils should be washed with dish washer or by hand with water and soap.
