On 4/10/2009 Sunday we went to RDT, in Anantapur.
The school left after breakfast with bus of Seds, we went to Vidyalayam. RDT is a NGO that helps children who are blind, mentally disabled. We came to bring Aparna to her
hostel. Two years ago, Aparna lived in Seds hostel. She was studying in 8th class. She became blind, so she joined the blind hostel in RDT. There she continued her studies. We all went to see her hostel. They gave us a mixture in a newspaper. In that paper we saw the writing of the blind people, which is very different from our handwriting. It likes just like holes. It is called Braille language. Braille was also a blind person. He invented the
language which is very useful for blind people.
The staff of RDT showed the farm to us. Mental people made flowers with Palmiah and puzzles, dolls, boxes... with paper. They sent all the material to Spain. The profit returns to the organization. We saw many attributes on different playgrounds, with a seesaw, slide... At 2.30 p.m. we returned to Mekalapalli. On the way back, we saw the national park. It is very old and everything is broken, so people rarely go there. There we had lunch, chapatti and groundnuts chutney. After lunch we played for some time and we continued our journey. On the way we also saw an international Cricket stadium. The grass was very green and was still being cultivated in the middle. At 4pm we arrived at the statue of the giant called Kumbakarnudu. The legend about him is that he slept for 6 months without waking up. So the people were trying to wake him up. It was the statue of that time. There we had some time to see other small statues like snakes and some goddess…then we didn’t stop still the SEDS farm.
